Aston Villa VS Manchester City Game Preview 21 April 2021

The soon-to-be champions go head to head with one of the most unpredictable teams in the EPL. Manchester City will look to make one of their final steps towards winning the title, whereas Aston Villa will look to channel their inner lion and cause an upset in the wake of the news that the EPL clubs have withdrawn from the EPL.

Aston Villa are currently doing well in the league - they’re 9th, survival is guaranteed, and they’re looking at making a push for European places next season. That was all a reality until they started going on a bad run in recent games, which put a dent in their aspiration to be considered as one of the teams looking to disrupt the Big Six. They’ve only won three in their last ten in all competitions, drawing another three and losing four. The Man City game can be a blessing in disguise, but it can also come at the worst possible moment.

Manchester City still have their one-armed grip strongly on the EPL trophy, and despite the recent blunders against Leeds and Chelsea, the latter of which ruined their dream of a quadruple, they are on course to finish their season with silverware. One is a must - the EPL trophy, and then there’s the UCL, the long-coveted trophy which will surely give Pep Guardiola legendary status. Three losses and seven wins in the last 10, but still strong. Expect them to make a statement and sweep Villa aside.

On the treatment table, both teams are missing key players - Grealish, Trezeguet, and Wesley are out for Villa, while Aguero and De Bruyne are out for City.
