Chelsea VS Porto Game Preview 13 April 2021

Porto and Chelsea will meet at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan for the second leg of the quarter-final tie of the UEFA Champions League. Chelsea head into the game with a 2-0 lead from the first game played a week ago.

The Portuguese side will look to bounce back and try to win the game, and considering they had more chances than their English counterparts, it’s fair to say that writing them off is premature. The Dragons already produced vintage performances in their previous games against Italian powerhouse Juventus, and fans and pundits are expecting them to attack from the start. At home, Porto is on a five-game winning streak in the league, scoring 10 and conceding just 2 in the process.

Chelsea bounced back after their blip in the English Premier League, when they lost 5-2 against minnows West Bromwich Albion, but showed true grit in the games that followed, beating Porto 2-0, and then dispatching Crystal Palace 4-1, meaning they’re entering the game in red hot form, after going through somewhat of a mixed patch of form in the EPL and the FA cup.

Chelsea has a clean bill of health, with Tuchel expected to have all players available to him for the upcoming tie later today. Andreas Christensen picked up a hamstring injury in the first leg, but he’s expected to make the bench at the very least. Porto on the other hand has a few injuries in their team, with Ivan Marcano, Mouhamed Mbaye, and Diogo Costa missing the game, while Sergio Oliveira is a doubt, and will be touch-and-go until kick-off.

Chelsea VS Porto Preview

Will Porto manage to produce another wonder in the UCL or will Chelsea state their credentials as one of the competition favorites? The answer to these questions and many others will be answered tonight after the final whistle.
