Hertha Berlin vs Freiburg Bundesliga Preview 06 May 2021

One of the last games of the 30th and 31st round of the Bundesliga brings us relegation candidates Hertha Berlin against mid-table minnows Freiburg in what will surely be an exciting clash.

Hertha are struggling badly in the league, are currently stuck in 17th place with 27 points, and only a win gives them a chance at staying above this season. The internal turmoil at the club has done its damage, but the big-spending side has a chance at survival, and they’ll have to start putting in hard-working performances. Whether coach Bruno Labbadia will manage to get his troops motivated about the game is a big but important question that we’ll know the answer to after the final whistle later today.

Freiburg on the other hand are doing fine this season. They sit comfortably in the middle of the table, in 9th place with 41 points. Very inconsistent and inefficient in front of goal, but they are one of the rare clubs boasting a positive goal difference. Head coach Christian Streich will hope to see out the season and then keep hold of his stars and maybe bring in new faces, and do what every mid-table German club wants to - try and break into the top four.

On the injury front, the situation at both clubs is earth and heaven. Hertha will have to do without the services of Jarstein, Lowen, Lukebakio, Netz, and Plattenhardt. Freiburg have a clean bill of health and will field their best eleven to face the capital club.

Hertha Berlin vs Freiburg Bundesliga Preview

Will Hertha have one last hurrah and perform a miraculous escape from the relegation zone, or will Freiburg go for a fine finish of the season and kill Hertha’s hopes as they have done so time and time again in the past? Tune in later today!
