Leicester City VS Newcastle United Match Preview 07 May 2021

Leicester will look to make easy business when they meet Newcastle at the King Power Stadium later today. The hosts sit comfortably in 3rd, 5 points ahead of 5th placed West Ham, while the visitors have all but secured Premier League football for next season, as they’re in 17th, 9 points above Fulham in 18th, with 4 games to play.

Leicester City come into the game with an upturn in form, having put their woes behind them after they lost two in a row. Now have two wins and a draw in their last three. Head coach Brendan Rodgers will look to make the third place their own, and ensure UCL football for next season. This game is a must win for them, as they have games against Man United, Tottenham, and Chelsea coming up, which if they lose, they might end up out of the top four.

The Magpies are not in search of any glamour or glory this season - they’re hoping to stay up and ensure they stay in the Premier League. Manager Steve Bruce will hope his team can make a strong finish to what has been a forgetful season. A visit to the King Power stadium might not be the opportunity some would expect to try and go for a win, but then again, this is the EPL, and there is no such thing as good or bad chances. It’s open season.

Injuries and suspensions have dogged both teams during the season, and they seem to be ending them with a few. Barnes, Justin, and Morgan are out for Leicester, while Newcastle will be without the services of Darlow, Fraser, Hayden, Lascelles, and Schar.
