Napoli VS Lazio Game Preview 21 April 2021

A mouthwatering clash between teams that look to break into the Italian top four, and claim one of the places that lead into the Champions League next season. Napoli and Lazio have everything to play for in this round of the Serie A.

The Napoletans are currently on a good run in the league, having won 6 of their last 10, drawing two and losing two, and will look to win here in order to leapfrog Juventus who are just 2 points above them. A Champions League place will save head coach Gattuso’s job, and give him some breathing room in the transfer period, while a loss will cast a big shadow over his future in Naples. 

The Romans come into the game in ruthless form, with 5 wins from their last 5 games in the league. Coach Simone Inzaghi will hope his troops can keep the good run of form and take one more step towards places that lead into Europe for next season. With the wind in their back, the Romans can test the Naples side, but their away form has been somewhat shaky.

Both teams have most of their standard first-teamers available, with Naples having to do without the services of Demme, Ghoulam, and Ospina. Lazio will be without Luiz Felipe and Escalante.

With the title race almost over, the focus is now on the teams fighting for the prized positions that lead into Europe, so expect a real rumble of a match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Thursday!
