Real Madrid vs Chelsea Match Preview 27 April 2021

The first game of the Champions League semi-finals will surely draw fans from all around the world to see who’ll be the winner in what has been the weirdest season to date. Real Madrid will host Chelsea at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium with the hope of dealing a devastating blow that will make the second leg at the Stamford Bridge a much easier game.

The Blancos come into the game on the back of a 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions, but their clash against the English side seems to come at a not-so-good time for them. They’re struggling in front of goal, partly due to injuries to key players, and coach Zidane will hope this isn’t the case on Tuesday night. Their most recent draw against Betis has dealt a major blow to their dreams of lifting the La Liga, so their focus will be full-on the Champions League.

Chelsea on the other hand are still riding their revival wave under Thomas Tuchel, and have managed to lose just two of their last 27 in all competitions. They’re currently 4th in the league, and are looking to end in the top four and ensure Champions League football for next season. The Blues have a good chance of progressing past the Madrid side, as they have fewer injuries and are in better shape attacking-wise.

Real Madrid will be without Mendy, Ramos, Valverde, and Vazquez for this game, while Chelsea will be without Kovacic. There are no other players missing, but Hazard and others should be fit for the clash.
