Reims VS Marseille Match Preview 23 April 2021

The 34th round of the French Ligue 1 starts off with Reims hosting Marseille, in a battle which can help decide which teams will get a taste of European football next season, and which won’t. A real treat for all neutral fans, and a nail-biting for fans of either club.

Reims are having a good season considering their position in the league, and as the season draws near ending, the fans can’t help but dream about the possibility of playing in Europe next season. With one win and four draws from their last five, Reims aren’t in the form of the lifetime, but not in the worst one either. The fact their last game against OM ended in a draw is encouraging, so expect them to go all out at kick-off.

Olympique Marseille are doing fine in the league, winning three, drawing one and losing one in their last five. Despite the internal turmoil between players and management, they’re doing fine, and will be up for the challenge tonight. A cause for concern can be the fact that they haven’t won any of their last 10 games on the road, drawing five and losing five. Coach Sampaoli will hope his troops finally break their hoodoo and get their first win on the road in the league in his tenure.

Both teams each have three players that will surely miss the game through injury or suspension. Amavi, Caleta-Car, and Sakai for Marseille, and Berisha, Cafaro, and Ghislain Konan for Reims.
