Aarhus vs Aalborg Match Preview 28 May 2021

It's the Danish Superliga Final in front of us!

Aarhus are heading into this match in mixed form, through the whole month of May. Out of 5 games, they lost 3 and won 2 games, which creates some understandable uncertainty in front of this big night for the Whites.

David Nielsen’s crew started the month with a losing game against FC Copenhagen in a very exciting match, which ended 3:2. After that the Whites played on an away field again, the opponents were Randers, and this time Aarhus’ team won the game with a score of 1:0. The next challenge was Nordsjaelland where AGF played at home and won the match 3:1, playing some of their best football of the season. But after this match, there were two disappointing games where AGF lost from Brondby with a score of 2:1 and also lost 4:0 in the hands of Midtjylland.

So, now is very unpredictable if head coach David Nielsen will be able to find the right approach for tonight’s match against Aalburg, and drive his team to victory.

Aalborg on the other hand are in better shape since they managed to win 3 out of their last 5 games, with 1 draw and 1 defeat. They won two in a row, one against Vejle, 2:1, and away against Sonderjyske, winning 4:0. Manager Martí Cifuentes wants his troops to play offensive football, and his players have shown many times this season they know how to turn on the style when it matters most.

The injury issues for the clubs can always be the reason for bad performance in the big matches.

Aarhus tonight will be missing the striker Patrick Mortensen and defender Frederik Tingager. Niklas Backman, Alex Gersbach and Mathias Jorgensen are doubts for the game.

The only player unavailable for tonight’s finale for Aalborg will be striker Lucas Andersen.
