Atletico Madrid VS Huesca Game Preview 21 April 2021

A match between the club with the best home record against relegation candidates that look down the barrel of a gun if they lost this one. Atletico Madrid versus Huesca might not be the most exciting game in this round of the La Liga, but it’s one that will answer a lot of questions.

The Rojiblancos will look to affirm their place at the top of the table and maintain their three-point lead over title candidates Real Madrid and Barcelona. Head coach Diego Simeone and his team have everything to lose should they fail to beat Huesca, but considering their formidable home form, they should put this one in the bag rather easily. Fringe players have stepped up in the absence of talisman Luis Suarez and wonderkid Joao Felix, so expect them to put on a show for their fans despite their mixed form of late.

Huesca on the other hand are struggling to stay in La Liga, as they’re currently 17th in the league, just above the relegation zone, but just on goal difference. Coach Pacheta is currently doing somewhat of a revolution with the team, so expect them to put up a fight and make life hard for the Madrid side. History and stats are not on Huesca’s side, but give everything that has happened this season, is an upset really that hard to imagine?

Both teams miss some players due to injuries, with Atletico having to do without Felix and Suarez for this game, while Huesca will field a team without Mafeo, Ontiveros, Silva, and Valera.
